Full description

Depart Casablanca after a 07:00 pick-up, and relax during the 3 h drive to Marrakech. On arrival, meet your local guide for a 3.5 h walking tour around the medina.

Explore the stalls of the old walled city before heading to the Bahia Palace to discover its magnificent courtyards and mosaic walls, built for the vizier Abu Bou Ahmed. Stroll through the Jewish quarter ("mellah"), where you'll notice the different architecture of the district. Discover the Saadian tombs, built during the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur in 1557.

Admire the Arabo-Andalusian architecture of the Ben Youssef medersa, and visit some of the souk's boutiques to buy spices and Morocco's famous argan oil. Visit the Koutoubia mosque, completed during the reign of Almohad caliph Yaqub al-Mansur (1184-1199), before plunging into the electric atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna, Africa's busiest square and market.

Quench your thirst with a freshly squeezed orange juice, while watching snake charmers, henna tattoo artists and water vendors. Stop for a tasty lunch at a restaurant with a terrace overlooking Jemaa el-Fna Square. Then meet your driver for a drive to the Majorelle garden, bought and restored by French couturier Yves Saint-Laurent. Enjoy 1 h 30 of free time to explore this peaceful oasis and a villa that houses the Berber History Museum. Stroll through the botanical gardens to admire cacti and other plants, as well as the bright cobalt walls, a hue now known as "Majorelle blue".

Meet your driver for the return trip to your Casablanca hotel, arriving around 8:00 pm.
