Lake lalla takerkoust

Escape for a day to this sumptuous oasis where time seems to stand still.

Located just a few kilometers from Marrakech via the Amizmiz road, Lac Lalla Takerkoust owes its name to the local patron saint. This artificial body of water, nestling at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, was created around a century ago by the construction of a dam. Marrakech locals love to spend a refreshing day here, away from the hustle and bustle of the red city.
Take advantage of these moments of peace and quiet to take a dip in the lake, before sharing a convivial picnic amidst a unique panorama. For sun worshippers, there's the opportunity to bask on the shore. Sports enthusiasts can try their hand at pedal-boating, windsurfing or canoeing. If you're keen on excursions, quads and motorcycles are available for exploring the surrounding area. And if you'd like to extend your stay, you can stay overnight in one of the inns or guesthouses.
