Depart Casablanca after a 07:00 pickup, and relax on the 3-hour drive to Marrakech. Upon arrival, meet your local guide for a 3,5-hour walking tour around the medina.
Explore the shops of the old walled city before heading to the Bahia Palace to discover its magnificent interior courtyards and mosaic walls, built for the vizier Abu Bou Ahmed. Stroll through the Jewish quarter ("mellah"), where you will notice the different architecture of the district. Discover the Saadian Tombs, built during the reign of Sultan Ahmad al-Mansur in 1557.
Admire the Arab-Andalusian architecture of the Ben Youssef Madrasa, and visit some of the shops in the souk to buy spices and Morocco’s famous argan oil. Head to the Koutoubia Mosque, completed under the reign of the Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur (1184–1199), before diving into the electric atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna, Africa’s busiest square and market.
Quench your thirst with freshly squeezed orange juice while watching snake charmers, henna tattooists, and water vendors. Stop for a tasty lunch at a restaurant with a terrace overlooking Jemaa el-Fnaa. Then, meet your driver for the drive to the Majorelle Gardens, purchased and restored by French fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent. Enjoy 1 hours of free time to explore this peaceful oasis and a villa that houses the Berber History Museum. Wander the botanical gardens to admire cacti and other plants, as well as walls painted in vivid cobalt, a hue now known as “Majorelle blue.”
Meet your driver for the return trip to your Casablanca hotel, arriving around 20:00 p.m.
